At Dressage Anywhere, we believe that the wisdom and talent of our older equine partners deserve more than just a scoresheet. They deserve a place in the spotlight!

The Veteran Horse Championship is designed to reward the long game, honouring the consistency and fitness of horses who just keep getting better with age. It isn't about one lucky test; it's about the grit it takes to keep these golden oldies feeling their best, month after month, as you improve your personal best together.

How it Works (The Short Version)

This series is a tribute to the 'professors' of the stable. If you are already competing in our monthly veteran classes, you are likely already well on your way to the final.

  • Who is eligible? Any rider paired with a horse aged 15 years or over.

  • Which classes count? Monthly Veteran Horse Competition classes (Introductory to Advanced Medium).

  • The Goal: Achieve three scores of 60% or above at the same level.

  • The Timeline: Scores accumulate from 1 January to 31 August.

  • The Grand Finale: The Championship show runs online in October, with the schedule opening for entries in September.

The Qualification Path: Consistency is Key

To make the road to the final clear, we've moved from a points-based league to a qualification standard. We want to see that you and your veteran are performing consistently at your chosen level. Once you secure your three qualifying scores of 60% or more, you've earned your invitation to the October final.

We will begin notifying our successful combinations online over the summer.

Why Join In the Fun?

Aside from the joy of showing that age is just a number, the Championship is about the 'prestige' of competing against the best veterans. Set goals for the season, aim to get those three scores in the bag by mid-summer so you can enjoy a relaxed lead-up to the October finals!

Tips for Success

  • Check the Rules: Ensure you are familiar with the standard Dressage Anywhere Rules and ensure your horse's age is correctly updated on your profile.

  • Review Your Scoresheets: Don't throw away those marks; use the judge's comments to see where your veteran can pick up extra points for accuracy and harmony.

  • Don't Forget the Deadline: Qualification entries must be completed by 31 August. Make sure you have your three scores recorded before the summer is out!
